The new CrisBag tote-based BHS will provide 100% tracking of baggage as it is checked-in at the airport's Terminal 2E and transported via a 500 metre tunnel to the Satellite 3 (S3) Terminal. The CrisBag system will provide the speed and capacity to meet the demands of the high-capacity aircraft which are served by the S3 Satellite, such as the Airbus A380.
The high-speed transportation of baggage from check-in to S3 will allow a short transport time of less than 20 minutes, including ECAC Standard 3 screening. The system consists of more than 2500 CrisBag modules and has a capacity of 3200 bags per hour.
The high-level controls also feature a web-based user interface to enable remote control of the baggage handling system from a tablet device. The integration of RFID scanning of bag tags in the new system, meanwhile, will ensure that Groupe ADP remains at the forefront of airport and supports compliance with IATA’s Resolution 753 tracking requirements.
Groupe ADP has also awarded BEUMER Group with a contract for the 24/7 maintenance of the CrisBag system to ensure the continuation of smooth operations.
