Menzies Copenhagen is leading the way by becoming the first company at the airport to deploy a fully electric towbarless pushback unit on the ramp.
Towbarless training began at the end of June, and the tug has been in operation ever since. Since electric vehicles reduce emissions, the towbarless function provides a reliable and efficient way of moving aircraft on the ramp - and dispenses with the need for towbars.
Jakob Bo Andersen, Copenhagen's Station Manager, said: “This is the first of three electric TBLs we will receive this summer. We’re very excited to set the trend and lead the way in technological solutions and environmental issues by going electric with our equipment.”
