Sudbury-based MEL Group has purchased Oldbury Engineering, a company based in Surrey which specialises in aircraft ground support equipment.
MEL Group, which operates in the aerospace and defence sectors, has said that the buy-out will bring unique skills to its capabilities in the design, manufacture and repair of both civil and military aircraft GSE.
Oldbury Engineering specialises in the manufacture of charging trolleys, portable charging kits, towbars, aircraft jacks and fluid replenishment trolleys.
The trolleys, jacks and towing equipment will enhance MEL’s already comprehensive range of quality ground support equipment and put it in a stronger position to offer a one-stop shop facility.
