Malaysia Airlines renews with Menzies Aviation

Menzies Aviation and Malaysia Airlines have renewed their contract for handling services in Australia and New Zealand for another five years.

The contract means Menzies will provide passenger, ramp and cargo services at Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth airports in Australia, and Auckland airport in New Zealand.

Menzies, which has been providing Malaysia Airlines with handling services since 2016, expects to handle 3,200 flights a year across the five locations until 2029.

Darren Masters, Executive Vice President – Oceania & South East Asia at Menzies Aviation, said: “The renewal of this agreement is a reflection on the strong strategic partnership that has developed between Menzies and Malaysia Airlines over the course of eight years. We’re excited to continue providing safe, reliable and efficient services at these five key locations while exploring opportunities to build on our relationship with the flag carrier of Malaysia.”

Aslina Ahmad Asiri, Global Head of Operations at Malaysia Airlines, added: “Menzies has always been supportive of MAB operations throughout the ANZ region despite the challenges post-Covid-19. Menzies has continuously engaged MAB to address these challenges and enforce their utmost commitment to support MAB’s plan to grow the ANZ operations. It is comforting to work with a highly professional entity that understand the business needs and ever willing to listen to feedback from their customers.”
