In late September, in Leipzig, DHL Global Forwarding officially opened its €3.4m new logistics centre for the pharmaceuticals industry. This state-of-the-art facility, covering almost 3,000 square metres, is located adjacent to Leipzig/Halle airport and will function as a competence centre for the transport, preparation and temporary storage of both active and passive temperature-controlled pharmaceutical products.
The building contains two temperature-controlled areas for sensitive pharmaceutical products that have to be kept at a constant temperature between the ranges of either 2-8ºC or 15-25ºC.
It is expected that the facility will create up to 30 new jobs.
