Kale to build Air Cargo Community System in Mozambique

Kale Logistics is working with Mozambique Airport Handling Services (MAHS) to develop the first Air Cargo Community System in Africa.

MAHS has invested in digitally streamlining operations to make Mozambique a top multi-modal hub for Africa, which is being held back by the lack of trade information visibility at the airport.

Trade facilitation bodies in Mozambique are working on providing transparency for operations with assistance from MAHS.

In the first phase, integration of finance and customs systems will be installed along with the latest version of GALAXY 3.0, Kale’s airport digital cargo management system.

MAHS is looking to tackle the challenges of revenue leakage, the lack of visibility and transparency, eliminating physical paper trails and creating data exchanges between stakeholders.

The Kale Airport Cargo Community System (ACS) provides enhanced visibility and transparency, enabling real-time tracking and monitoring of cargo movements, incorporating automated regulatory compliance checks.

Tubias Fondo, IT and Communications Head at MAHS, said: “Kale has been the torch bearer of air cargo digitisation across the world, and we are proud to be the first adopters of its ACS in Africa. We strongly believe its technology-enabled solution will build strong business synergies for us in the long run.”

Vineet Malhotra, Co-founder and Director of Kale, added: “We at Kale are excited to deploy Africa’s first ACS. We are proud to bring our expertise and best practices to this collaboration, ensuring the highest standards of service and innovation. Developing ACS for a major player like MAHS in Mozambique is a milestone for Kale.”

The service will be made available at the eight airports operated by MAHS followed by another twelve in the subsequent phase.
