While continuing to act as a consultant to the industry as a Principal of Silver Star Consulting, along with his colleagues at NexGen, Conway will assist ground handling clients who wish to consider a sale of their business.
Conway commenced his career working at British Airways Cargo, and then spent many years with Cathay Pacific Airways. He totalled 14 years in Hong Kong, the last seven as Managing Director of Hong Kong Airport Services.
In 2008 he joined dnata in Dubai, where he worked for eight years as Divisional Senior Vice President Airport Operations, taking responsibility for ground handling activities at Dubai International and the new Al Maktoum International airport, as well as dnata’s UAE cargo operations. He oversaw a workforce in excess of 20,000 and served as Chairman of a UAE forwarding and logistics joint venture and as a Director of two other associated businesses.
In 2017, Conway was appointed Director General of the Airport Services Association, the trade association representing the global ground handling sector. He was also Vice Chair of the IATA Ground Operations Group.
