Indian airports embrace the PRM

PRM Update
The latest news from India suggests that the country is now administering more to the needs of the travelling PRM.

To that end, airport security screening has finally taken into account the PRM and their need for a dignified travel experience. Security personnel have now begun using handheld detectors to screen passengers who come arrive in wheelchairs, as well as those with prosthetic limbs.

Sources indicate that details on how to screen disabled passengers were sent to the airport last month and that the Central Industrial Security Force has been trained in the use of handheld detecting equipment. Thanks to these procedural changes, the PRM will no longer have to be moved from a wheelchair or remove artificial limbs whilst going through the security process.

It is understood that CISF personnel will be trained further when a standard procedure for the new screening is finally signed off.
