Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals (Hactl) has welcomed its first new airline of the year with a contract to handle Hungary Airlines.

The new cargo airline provides scheduled services between Budapest and Hong Kong using Airbus A330Fs with 62 tonnes of capacity.

Hactl is providing a one-stop-shop service to Hungary Airlines, covering cargo terminal operations, aircraft loading and unloading and documentation.

Budapest is a growing e-commerce hub with Hungary Airlines using the Hong Kong flights as a link between Greater China and Europe.

As more aircraft are added to Hungary Airlines’ fleet, it plans to add services to the USA and Middle East.

Wilson Kwong, Chief Executive of Hactl, said: “We welcome Hungary Airlines to the Hactl carrier family; their new services further enhance Hactl’s global connectivity. We look forward to supporting their establishment and growth as an e-commerce specialist, which ties in well with our own focus on this important business area.”
