Iberia Airport Services served more than 161,200 aircraft and 41.8m passengers at 29 Spanish airports between January and June this year. New customer airlines included Air China and Avianca at Barcelona’s Prat airport, and Finnair in Mahon, Ibiza and Alicante. Over the past two years it has replaced more than 50% of its ground service vehicles: in keeping with the company’s environmental policies, it has been substituting internal combustion vehicles with cleaner, electric-powered units, which now account for 29% of the provider's total fleet.
Most of the new equipment has been deployed at Madrid, Barcelona and Majorca airports. Moreover, the entire fleet of tractors and lifting equipment at Madrid airport's freight terminal is now electric-powered.
