The cargo was flown to Prestwick from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, alongside two 40-foot components for onward transportation to Aberdeen.
The longest piece measured 67 feet and weighed 24 tonnes.
It was transported on three 20-foot connected pallets and required three main deck loaders and two cranes to be offloaded.
The operation was completed in 30 minutes.
Jules Matteoni, Operations Director at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, said: “The safe, careful, and efficient offloading of this cargo required extensive planning from our in-house ground handling team at Prestwick. Handling such a large piece of freight requires immense coordination and expertise, two of our key assets.”
Last year, Prestwick invested in two new high loaders, which were used to handle the consignment.
Nico Le Roux, Business Development Director at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, said: “We are dedicated to supporting our clients and the industries they operate in, particularly outsized cargo for the oil and gas sector, which has always been one of our strengths.”
