FCS and Air Astana have announced an extension to their existing handling contract.
This partnership, which has been in existence for several years, is thus set to continue for a further period. The carrier has seen growth in both its passenger and cargo business in recent times; indeed, this latter has doubled in terms of tonnages.
Air Astana serves the route from Frankfurt to Astana in Kazakhstan on a daily basis. During the winter timetable the route is served with a Boeing 757 whilst during summer period, a Boeing 767 is deployed. The concomitant expansion of Astana International airport has strengthened the position of Air Astana, providing at Kazakhstan’s capital a most important hub for air traffic in Central Asia, which sees around 420 flights per week.
The duration of the renewed contract was not disclosed.
