With this development, London becomes RwandAir’s first European and second long haul route - and RwandAir’s twenty second destination. The destination will be served by the newly acquired Airbus A330 fleet in a triple class configuration with inflight connectivity.

Initially to be operated three times a week, the service is intended to be expanded to a four-times-a-week frequency in time. The first nonstop connection between Rwanda and the UK, this addition represents a bold move for the airline, adding to its long-haul portfolio, and indicates the high rate of development in the regional market at present.
The summer 2017 season will see a 23% increase in capacity as services to London and Mumbai are opened, and capacity to Johannesburg, Libreville, Nairobi, Lagos and Dubai will also see significant increases. Operating 550 additional scheduled flights this summer compared to last year, RwandAir will be leading the growth as it expands its fleet with the addition of A330s.
