
The aim of the initiative is to reduce airport waiting times for customers and to that end Finnair is working in partnership with airport luggage innovator AirPortr.
The bespoke paid-for concierge service is designed to enhance the customer experience for the airline’s London-based travellers as part of a three-month trial. It will enable customers to arrange collection of their luggage right from the doorstep of their home or hotel, which will be checked in directly on their behalf.
For Finnair customers who have checked in online, baggage can be collected at their London location up to a few hours prior to departure. This means they can now head straight through airport security when departing. This new service is expected to have particular benefits for business travellers but it also provides added convenience for leisure customers, who can leave their bags to be picked up from their doorstep for secure delivery to the airport.
