Newman, who manages sales activities for the company’s airline customer segment, has over 35 years’ experience in aviation, including senior roles with McDonnell Douglas in addition to FedEx.
Commenting on his new role, he remarked: “TIACA has a vital role to play in bringing together all sectors of the air cargo supply chain and giving them a voice.
“I am looking forward to using this role to help ensure industry keeps abreast of changing demands as well as providing innovative solutions to colleagues around the globe.”
Newman will succeed Sarah Prosser, Managing Director, Legal Counsel, at FedEx, who is stepping down after six years on the Board. Doug Brittin, Secretary General, TIACA, commented on her departure, saying: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sarah for her time on the Board and for the valuable work she has done on behalf of members.
“We are very pleased to welcome Frank, who brings a great deal of expertise in aviation from the perspective of an integrator.”
In October of this year, Newman will participate in a panel to discuss challenges pertaining to digitalisation and e-commerce in the air cargo industry at TIACA’s 2016 Air Cargo Forum in Paris.
