dnata acquires Air Dispatch Centralised Load Control

Global ground handling services provider dnata is to purchase a majority stake in Air Dispatch Centralised Load Control, part of the Chapman Freeborn Group.

In addition to the company’s predominant function of centralised load control, that is, calculating safe-to-fly weight and balance figures, Air Dispatch’s portfolio also includes ULD asset tracking and the development of Flight Optimisation software. Operations run from centres in Prague and Warsaw, in addition to a small head office team based at London’s Heathrow airport.

Stewart Angus, dnata’s Divisional Senior Vice President of International Airport Operations commented on dnata's acquisition of what he called the “market leading” company in centralised load control, remarking that it will serve to broaden dnata’s portfolio and strengthen its position as a leader in its field.
“Air Dispatch is a company with a strong track record and valuable expertise and we are confident that they will be a beneficial addition to the dnata family,” he said.

Nick Yeadon, CEO of Air Dispatch CLC, who will continue to head up the operation, added: “We are excited to be entering the next phase of Air Dispatch CLC’s development. dnata is an excellent home for our growing business.”

This marks the latest in a stream of recent acquisitions by dnata, including that of Ground Services International in the US, RM Ground Services in Brazil, and a notable investment in ground handling operations in Milan, as well as in cargo facilities at Amsterdam Schiphol airport.
