DIMOS develops lighter, more efficient ETV

Cargo
DIMOS Maschinebau has developed a new Elevating Transfer Vehicle (ETV) for handling ULDs, which is lighter, more efficient and sustainable than other ETVs.

The ETV was based on DIMOS’s X-Mover, a transport vehicle for the air cargo sector that combines different functions from various conventional cargo machines so it can perform all handling tasks in the terminal.

The new ETV was specifically developed to transport ULDs, lifting them 7500mm in standard configuration and greater heights can be achieved based on specific requirements.

It has a capacity of up to 14 tons for the 20 foot variant with Managing Director Pascal Schütz saying it was important to make the new product lighter, more efficient and require less maintenance than conventional systems while delivering the same performance and reliability.

He said: “Our version weighs around a third less than comparable vehicles. This means that it is not only more economical in terms of consumption and more flexible to use, but also less maintenance-intensive and cheaper than many comparable models due to the amount of material used.”

Schütz adds that shipping is easier and assembly is simpler, making the ETV ideal for retrofits to replace ageing systems.
