The app, launched at Indira Gandhi International airport, promises to optimise the entire process of shipping freight, enabling end-to-end tracking and complete visibility of a shipment, as well as of the vehicles within the cargo terminal. By digitalising the process, the mobile application offers to reduce the environmental impact of moving cargo by air and assist in the electronic clearance of cargo through the customs department.
DIAL has said that the application provides authorised access to operators, customs, custom house agents, airlines and freight forwarders, amongst others, enabling better management of cost and resource benefits for users.
“Through this app there will be seamless integration with both the cargo operators- Celebi and DCSC," said Prabhakara Rao, CEO, DIAL. He went on to say, "DIAL Cargo app will benefit the entire Air Trade System where you can transact complete business functionalities such as tracking consignment, paying terminal charges, issuing delivery and carting orders and many such items in a paperless manner."
Currently, this app is only available on Android platforms, but there are plans to introduce the same features to both Windows and iOS operating systems.
