Contract extensions and digitisation programme initiatives at Unilode

AirBridgeCargo Airlines and Unilode Aviation Solutions have extended their ULD management agreement until mid-2023.

AirBridgeCargo is one of Unilode's largest customers, operating a fleet of 18 Boeing 747 freighters with over 10,000 ULDs, which are being supplied from Unilode's global fleet of some 120,000 units. Unilode has supported AirBridgeCargo's growth with ULD management solutions since 2004 and their mutually beneficial partnership has now been extended for another five year term.

Separately, Unilode has unveiled its plans to accelerate the digital transformation for ULD management solutions by bringing to the market a ULD tracking solution based on a Bluetooth Low Energy tag that is fully embedded into the structure of the ULDs, which is supported by a global interoperable reader infrastructure. For the implementation of its digitisation programme, Unilode has teamed up with technology provider OnAsset Intelligence.

Unilode customers Cathay Pacific, Air Canada, Cargolux and AirBridgeCargo are among the airlines who are involved in the digitisation programme, which is being rolled out this year. Several shippers will also subscribe.
