Cathay reopens First Class lounge at Hong Kong

Lounge & Catering
On June 25, the reopening of Cathay Pacific's The Pier First Class Lounge at Hong Kong International airport was announced, following its refurbishment.

With the new facility, premium passengers have at their disposal a table service restaurant with made-to-order à la carte meals for up to 100 guests at a time, a bar and individual Day Suites, complete with bed and blackout curtains. Additionally they feature a reading light, mirror and views over the runway. The 2,061 square metre lounge is furnished using warm, natural materials with the intention of creating a comfortable, homely environment – one that gives off the distinct feeling of being an apartment. A signature scent is filtered into the air to ensure the full sensory experience is a pleasant one.

Also available to passengers are complimentary foot, neck and shoulder massages and showers are provided for those who wish to freshen up before their flight. For the hardworking there is also a library, offering a relaxing space to read or work on one of six iMac computers.

Collectively, these high-spec features do well to capture the new Cathay Pacific brand ethos: "Contemporary Asian, heartfelt warmth, considered simplicity, and the joy of discovery".
