Aura CUTE becomes a fully hosted solution

Tech Talk
Aura provides an affordable Common Use solution for small and medium-sized airports. With Aura there is the possibility of maximising an airport’s capacity and avoiding construction costs and expensive and proprietary CUTE/CUPPS systems that were designed for larger operations.

Now available as a fully hosted solution, Aura brings the benefit of power, scalability, reliability and performance at a fraction of the cost of a traditional CUTE or CUPPS systems. The hosted option provides for an even faster installation and simplified IT strategy. Clients will also be able to increase airport revenues through system leasing to airlines and ground handlers, all of which results in a very low lifetime and support cost.

Damarel has been supplying Common Use platforms and applications for over 20 years to airports such as Exeter International. In order to support and facilitate its growth, Exeter took the strategic decision to implement CUTE and make full make full use of its limited number of check-in desks. By adopting Aura the airport ensured that every carrier could access its own DCS using common equipment, immediately freeing up desk space and increasing capacity. As the size of the airport increased and new desks and gates were added, so Aura proved its flexibility, easily scaling up to meet increased usage. It was also able to meet the changing demands of the airport, seamlessly adding support for new devices, such as low cost GPPs and OCR equipment for APIS capture.

As part of the overall solution Damarel also provided Exeter with Vanguard for rapid, effective screening of home printed boarding cards; L-DCS and Lodestone systems for check-in and boarding and weight and balance; and FiNDnet with FIDSMon to improve the delivery of flight and airport information to passengers: in short, a complete and fully integrated airport automation turn-key solution.
