
On April 17, operating a series of six Boeing 747 charter flights, ABC Airlines ensured the racing cars, car frames and other vehicle parts, as well as special equipment, were safely transported from the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai to Sochi for the event. The total weight of the cargo, including the special containers in which the cars were carried, exceeded 100 tonnes per flight.
Part of a seven-year programme of Formula One races in Sochi until 2020, this marks be the third year of the Russian Grand Prix in the city, which runs from today to May 1.
