AES and Red Handling sign XOPS GSE tracking contract

AES and Red Handling, the handling entity of Norwegian airlines, has signed a 4-year contract to operate the XOPS solution for their GSE tracking and fleet management in Spain.

With this new contract in Spain, XOPS, via its GSE partner AES, extends its position in this country, now having a presence in 27 Spanish airports, supporting many airlines and ground operators.

Jean-François Bouilhaguet, CEO of XOPS Airport Asset Management Solutions, says: "We are excited to be embarking on this partnership with Red Handling and to be able to cement our position in the country further."

According to the new AENA requirement to obtain the handling licence, XOPS pooling platform can be accessed by handlers at various Spanish airports to share equipment.

Bouilaguet adds: "We prefer the term “sharing” rather than “airport pooling”. GSE sharing is a first step to start optimising equipment airside. We keep the term 'airport pooling' for projects such as in Hong Kong where 100% of GSE are pooled, monitored and automatically assigned to operators by the IT solution. Our system ensures the best fleet optimisation, productivity and on-time handling on a very large scale at an international airport."
