Almost 150 delegates from Africa and elsewhere around the world came to the Kigali Convention Centre in Rwanda to listen to a huge variety of papers from experts within the sector.
Of note during the three-day event this week were discussions on the subject of GSE requirements for the continent; the challenge of raising the levels of safety on the ramp; and the ongoing difficulties in forging an Open Skies agreement for all 54 countries.
Aside from the three days of thought provoking papers there was much networking between equipment suppliers, handlers, airport officials and airlines.
Conference Chairman Max Gosney, pronounced the event a success and revealed the location of next year's summit: "the 2019 event will take place in Nairobi, with dates to be released shortly," he said.
