Another record breaking GHI Americas

The aviation community reunited in style for the 7th Americas GHI in Punta Cana last week.

More than 400 delegates attended the GHI Americas Conference at Hard Rock Hotel on 13-15 June, cementing its position as GHI's biggest regional conference.

Airlines, handlers and GSE/IT suppliers alike benefitted from the unique networking and business opportunities that presented themselves during the three-day event, as well as from the interesting debates on the technological developments currently shaping the industry and in the years to come.

Roger Larreur, Chief Commercial Officer at AGI Group, the Platinum Sponsor of the event, said: "For the AGI Group, the GHI Americas conference exceeded our expectations as we were able to meet with a record number of customers, both current and future. It was also the best platform to introduce our new AGI branding to the aviation community. We were honoured to be the Platinum Sponsor this year and look forward to sponsoring more GHI America conferences."

Mark Reppucci, Global Director, GSE Sales, Advanced Charging Technologies (ACT), who took part in the panel discussion on electric GSE, said: "It's been one of the best conferences hands down."

Speaking after the event, GHI Conference Chairman, Max Gosney, said: "We were delighted to have welcomed more than 400 delegates through the door at the 7th Americas GHI. This was the second successive year the Conference has broken through the 400 attendees barrier and the Americas is now GHI’s undisputed largest regional conference.

"The rapid growth in this event is testament to the ferocious support we’ve enjoyed from the region’s stakeholders. I would like to personally thank the business leaders at airlines, ground handlers, suppliers, airports and industry associations whose passion for Americas aviation excellence has helped build this Conference brick by brick. There was an ebullient mood in Punta Cana this week as key decision makers engaged in nearly 2,000 meetings to discuss business opportunities in a resurgent Americas region.

"The exhibition hall featured more than 40 leading IT/GSE suppliers and witnessed record breaking footfall across the three days. We’re looking forward to the 8th Americas in Toronto next June already. In the meantime, don’t forget to join us at GHI’s next regional conference: the 6th African Stakeholders’ Conference, Cape Town, 12-13 September."

He added: "Thanks to all of our supporters for getting behind the Conference."
