25th Annual GHI Conference programme revealed

The keynote programme has been revealed for the 25th Annual GHI Conference, Barcelona, 3-5 December.

Exclusive sessions include:

The Big Debate: Ramp 2050 – what does the future hold for ground handling? Upon our 25th Annual anniversary, GHI will ask industry leaders to give us their expert insight on how they see the ground handler and aviation environment changing shape in tomorrow’s world. Do robots and autonomous GSE replace all human resources on the apron? What are the key tenants of the SGHA in 2050? And, could a race to the bottom left unchecked spark airlines and airports to return to self-handling? GHI will reveal the findings of exclusive research among aviation leaders on what they see as the key trends of the apron and the wider industry by 2050. Have your say on the ramp of the future, take the survey here.

Skills: A social media strategy for solving the skills crisis. This session will invite leading operators and influencers to discuss the power of Instagram, TikTok and other social media channels in connecting aviation with a new talent pipeline. The panel will give their advice on the best way to build your business’ online presence.

GSE: New battery technologies to power up sustainable fleets. This session will invite battery suppliers and GSE manufacturers to detail some of the most exciting advances in GSE battery technology that can help operators advance the electrification of fleets while airport charging infrastructure lags behind.

Airports: Enhancing passenger journeys through better ground handling partnerships. With a record five billion passengers expected to take to the skies in 2024, airports are once again feeling the pain of congested aprons, full gates and lengthy security queues. This panel will investigate how ground handlers might be the secret weapon in freeing up capacity and securing outstanding on-time departure scores.

Cargo: E-commerce – the gold rush in the hold. E-commerce will record another year of double digit growth in 2024 with more of the same forecast for next year in a market that is worth nearly $19 trillion globally. With air cargo capacity already stretched, how are operators on the ground investing in their facilities and fleets to ensure they keep pace? View the full conference programme here.

Don’t delay: We are experiencing record-breaking demand for this year’s Annual Conference with 80+ airlines, 70 exhibitors and nearly 500 aviation decision makers already registered and 10 weeks still to go.
