Swissport to open Aspire lounge at Eindhoven airport

Swissport International is further expanding its lounge business in Europe, with its latest lounge opening in Eindhoven airport in the Netherlands.

Eindhoven becomes the third of three new Aspire lounges to open in the UK since September, along with London Gatwick and Edinburgh airport. Swissport now manages 47 Aspire lounges at more than 30 airports in 13 countries, which are open to airline passengers in any class of travel.

Aspire’s newest lounge will be located in the airside sector at Eindhoven airport, on the first floor near gates 11 and 12. The new lounge offers seating for 60 guests, set within a200 square metre lounge area. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of food and beverage options and local specialties, such as “worstenbroodje”, bringing a taste of the Netherlands to Aspire. Vegetarian and vegan choices are also accommodated, while single-use plastics are kept to a minimum as part of Aspire’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

“We are delighted to bring our Aspire brand to Eindhoven airport. Opening a brand-new premium lounge at Eindhoven airport complements our existing offer in the Netherlands,” says Shaun Weston, Vice President Global Lounges at Swissport International. “Eindhoven is already our fourth lounge in the Netherlands, in addition to three lounges at Amsterdam Schiphol airport which have been running very successfully.”

Swissport operates Aspire lounges at airports in Africa, Europe and North America, last welcoming over 5m passengers across its network. Three more Aspire lounges will open in Ottawa and Halifax, Canada, and in Perth, Australia, in the first half of 2020.
