Swissport Saudi Arabia signs contract with Jazeera Airways

Swissport subsidiary, Swissport Saudi Arabia, has signed a contract to provide full range ground handling services for Jazeera Airways at King Abdulaziz International airport, Jeddah, and King Khaled International airport in Riyadh.

Under the terms of the new contract, Swissport will manage passenger and ramp handling, baggage services, operations co-ordination and load control for the airline. At both airports, operations are scheduled to begin on June 1 this year, with nine flights a week in Jeddah and five in Riyadh, and the ever-present possibility of expansion.

Jazeera COO, Abdulla Al-Hudaid, was positive about the partnership, remarking: “We look forward to our new relationship with Swissport Saudi Arabia, whose recent entry into the Saudi market as a second ground handling services provider reflects the continued development of the Kingdom’s aviation sector.”

Swissport Saudi Arabia’s Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Bommer, said that the company is looking forward to a long term partnership with Jazeera Airways, calling the new contract an "important further achievement" for the handler.
