The new venture will handle in the region of 10,000 tonnes of air cargo per year for airlines and freight forwarders and will be located on the premises of the Austrian airport, thus offering direct access to handling facilities for air cargo. Additionally, the existing customer base and the experienced staff combine to make Swissport Cargo Services Graz fully equipped to provide a seamless service to its customers.
Dipl Ing Wolfgang Malik, Chairman of the Board of the Holding Graz, and Mag Gerhard Widmann, Managing Director of Graz airport, said of the collaboration: "Our aim was a close co-operation, which would lead to an expansion of cargo activities and the service offering as well as an improvement of the service quality, all of which would ultimately profit not only Graz airport but also the economy of Styria."
Philipp Joeinig, Executive Vice President Europe at Swissport International, commented in an equally positive vein, saying: "What makes this co-operation special is the fact that we can build on existing as well as future client relations in order to expand our cargo offering in Austria from Vienna to Graz and beyond that in the future."

Swissport expands air cargo services in Austria
Swissport International and Flughafen Graz Betriebs have signed a Letter of Intent to begin jointly providing air cargo services at Graz airport as of 2016.
