
AEI promises to give better visibility, reduce clearance time for shipments and increase security at airports in Senegal. The mandatory pilot phase begins today, with the hope that the technology will go live by September 1.
As part of the agreement, CHAMPCargosystems has performed a comprehensive analysis into Senegal’s Customs requirements, a gap analysis and, together with Senegal Customs, helped define the specifications for WCO world format XML schema.

Increasingly, countries in Africa and around the world are investigating the adoption of AEI filing in order to increase efficiency, accuracy, speed and reduce costs and errors. The technology offers to facilitate better collaboration between industry stakeholders and different countries, as well as improve transparency, thereby enhancing security within air cargo.
CHAMP’s solution, Traxon Global Customs, currently covers 47 countries with more countries being added as legislation comes into force, making it “a highly versatile and future proof solution,” CHAMP said in today’s press release.
