SAS Cargo has awarded Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) a long-term contract to provide handling services at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

The contract will start on 24 February 2025 and WFS was selected following a thorough selection process to become SAS Cargo’s first external handling partner at one of its Scandinavian hubs.

WFS already provides SAS with cargo handling services in Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain.

Markus Ek, CEO of SAS Cargo, said: “Arlanda, Stockholm, is a very important hub for us at SAS Cargo and the decision to partner with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) reflects our ongoing commitment to providing consistent, reliable service for our customers.”

Marc Claesen, SVP Northern Europe and Africa at WFS, added: “This is a very significant contract for WFS in Sweden and reflects the reputation for service quality we have built with SAS Cargo at other major airports in Europe. It is also testimony to our ability to offer the airline a long-term partnership with global growth potential.”

WFS has been providing cargo handling services at Arlanda airport since 2012, it acquired Terminal & Transporttjänst i Sigtuna AB (TT) and APH Logistics AB (APH) in June 2024.

At Arlanda, WFS handles eight airline customers at three facilities with a combined 16,300 square metres of warehouse capacity.

The warehouses have cooling facilities for temperature-controlled and perishable cargo, and a Border Inspection Post (BIP).
