SAASA closes €14 million deal for first cargo warehouse at Madrid-Barajas airport

SAASA Global, a subsidiary of the Peruvian company Servicios Aeroportuarios Andinos (SAASA) has closed a financing deal for the construction of a €14 million warehouse at Madrid-Barajas airport.

The construction of its first cargo warehouse in Madrid starting on 1 April will allow SAASA Global to become the third cargo logistics operator for third parties at the airport.

The 6,100 square metre facility constructed by Napisa will be completed by February 28, 2026.

Total investment of €20.5 million will be financed by Frux Capital (70%) while the remaining €6.5 million (30%) will be covered by the Andino Group, SAASA's parent company.

SAASA Global also signed a contract for the manufacture, installation and commissioning of the warehouse equipment with SACO Airport Equipment, with an estimated budget of €2.8 million and a completion period of 11 months.

The cargo terminal will have a transfer capacity of more than 80 million kilos per year, as well as 1,200 square metre of climate-controlled facilities to maintain the cold chain for perishable cargo, and a Border Inspection Centre for the inspection of cargo entering the European Union as the first point of entry. 

The warehouse is expected to generate more than 150 direct jobs.

Lima
SAASA will operate in the new terminal of the Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima offering ramp services for commercial airplanes and will have a special area of more than 6,000 square metres in the new terminal and will maintain an area of 500 square metres in the current terminal to attend cargo airplanes.

SAASA is a Peruvian company, part of the Andino Group that provides airport services such as ramp services, cargo storage services, passenger services, FBO services, among others.
