New St Louis lounge opens

A new limited access club, which is not tied to a particular airline, opened on Friday January 5 in St Louis Lambert International airport's Terminal 2.

The lounge, called Wingtips, is located by Gate E31 and is operated by ground handling company Airport Terminal Services. Airport officials have said that it fills a longstanding void in the terminal; American Airlines operates a similar facility, the Admirals Club, in Terminal 1.

The new club has been designed to provide passengers with a quiet place to work, socialise, eat and drink. Travellers can use the Wingtips facility by paying US$38 for a single visit; alternatively, full memberships are available. Three different subscription levels are offered, which range from US$75 to US$500 a year, and there are corporate membership terms, too.

The company also operates a Wingtips lounge at New York's Kennedy International airport and manages another facility in Detroit for Lufthansa.
