New rescue stairs for Nuremburg airport

GSE Focus
Nuremburg International airport has just taken delivery of aircraft rescue stairs manufactured by Mallaghan Engineering.

Mallaghan is a well-known international supplier of airport ground support vehicles and specialist equipment but this represents the company's first venture into the growing aircraft fire and rescue sector.

These specific aircraft rescue stairs are capable of extending to 5.8 metres high and an innovative step section features hydraulic telescopic stairs with a 2.3 metre wide platform surface. The platform has two media deliveries fed by a telescopic pipe and hose line, in addition to an auxiliary power feed from the truck's onboard generator.

This specific rescue vehicle is based on a Mercedes Benz Atego 4x2 chassis, and is fitted with automatic transmission, two equipment lockers and five stabilising feet for use on uneven ground surfaces.
