It was a landmark event for sustainability at the airport .The refuelling was performed by a Menzies Aviation tanker truck, which had been specially loaded for the occasion with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). SAF is a term which refers to advanced biofuels that have been certified as sustainable by a reputable monitoring body.
Kevin Brown, SVP North America Operations, and Randy Davies, SVP US Consortiums, said: “We are very excited to be working with United Airlines on their initiative to use biofuels to fuel aircraft departing from SFO. This is the second location where Menzies has provided Fuel Farm and Into-Plane Fuelling services in support of United’s environmental programmes. We would like to extend our thanks to both Menzies teams led by Paul Neville and Raul Vargas for their planning and management supervision of the project.”
