Swissport International has a new CEO.
The world's biggest ground handler today announced the appointment of Luzius Wirth to CEO Swissport UK & Ireland, as of June 1 2017. Wirth will remain in his additional role as EVP Group Services. As a member of the Group’s Executive Management, he will continue to report directly to Eric Born, Group President & CEO Swissport International.
Wirth joined Swissport in 2012 and has since taken up various prominent leadership roles within the group; since 2014 he has held responsibility for Swissport’s Group Services. Swissport's current postholder, Tommy Watt, will retire from his daily activities by the end of July 2017, having held a number of senior managerial positions in the ground handling industry over the past 40 years.
