Last chance to celebrate your pandemic heroes

Entries will close for GHI’s Pride of Ground Handling Awards next Friday (22 October).

Do you have a team leader who went above and beyond to ensure essential healthcare equipment made it to the hospital during the pandemic?

Have you crafted a performance enhancing GSE innovation or embraced electrification on the ramp?

Yes? Then GHI wants to hear about it in these awards which celebrate service excellence, innovation, safety and the all-important people who make it happen.

Seven categories are open for entry:

Best Handler-Airline Innovation Award: Championing the GSP and carrier who’ve looked beyond the contract price to craft a value adding partnership with mutual bottom line benefits.

Sustainability Award: Our judges want to see examples of aviation operators who have taken sustainability from a tick box activity to a true business principle.

Best Station Award: Celebrating the ground handling station that took a starring role in combatting the coronavirus pandemic or has established a reputation for going above and beyond in its service delivery to carriers.

GSE Innovation Award: This category celebrates the station/airport/manufacturer who have teamed up to boost performance via an innovative new product launch or improvement to existing equipment.

Best Cargo Handling Operation: This award recognises the crucial importance of safe, efficient and pioneering cargo handling services in today’s aviation supply chain.

Unsung Hero Award: Rewarding the ramp/station employee who goes the extra mile to protect passengers during the coronavirus pandemic or deliver business improvement.

Ramp Safety Award: Eliminating ground damage, accident risks and striving for the highest possible safety standards is a guiding principle of all aviation stakeholders. This award will celebrate the ground handling team or employee who have used their initiative and worked proactively to deliver a tangible safety gain.

Winners will be announced to a global audience at GHI Pride of Ground Handling Awards virtual ceremony on 7 December 2021.
