JLC Aviation signs supply contract with Gatwick airport

GSE Focus
JLC Aviation Services has signed a three year contract with Gatwick airport to supply and maintain the crocodiles, cables and connectors used to conduct power to aircraft that are being prepared for departure.

Serving nearly 128,000 aircraft each year from its two terminals, it is essential that power is available around the clock to Gatwick’s 143 stands. JLC Aviation will fulfil a planned servicing schedule of all Gatwick’s fixed and mobile ground power units, while also ensuring a permanent engineer is available for reactive maintenance as required.

With cables, connectors and other spare parts available from stock at its nearby depot, JLC is well placed to ensure round-the-clock ground power at the airport. In particular, the company can support Houchin GPUs, having recently recruited staff highly experienced in this brand of ground power unit.

Based near Gatwick airport, alongside sister company JLC Automation Services, and this year’s Supplier of the Year to London Gatwick, JLC Aviation also supplies Heathrow and London City airports. The company is currently negotiating with other airports and smaller airfields nationwide.
