Many would agree that the potential for growth in the Indian aviation sector is prodigious.

That assertion has now been borne out by a study instituted by the country’s Civil Aviation Ministry.
Inter alia, the study declares that it projects the domestic aviation sector to employ nearly 4m people within two decades, spurred on by improved economic activities and labour productivity.
While emphasising the need for having skill development programmes across various levels within the sector, the study further recommends the setting up of a National Civil Aviation Training Entity.
The study, which was carried out by ICRA Management Consultancy Services, comes at a time when the Ministry is in the advanced stages of finalising the country’s civil aviation policy.
