More space for advanced production technologies is the main attraction of the initiative, following the acquisition of a 30,000 square metre site in Nürtingen.
With the signing of the deed of sale in December 2018, the Goldhofer Group has set the stage for modernisation of its production site in Ostfildern. The industrial site in neighbouring Nürtingen, just 20 kilometres away, offers ample space for a state-of-the-art production plant and an ultra-modern workplace in the region for the manufacturer's current total of 155 employees.
“For us it was a major objective to modernise and upgrade our production facility,” says Lothar Holder, Member of the Board at Goldhofer, who has responsibility for Airport Technology. “As part of our global growth strategy in the Airport Technology division, we continue to focus on bundling our production capacities in Germany with our twin locations in Memmingen and Ostfildern or, in future, Nürtingen. That is the key to maintaining the consistently high quality of our ground support vehicles and creating the capacities needed to achieve our targets for future growth.”
Construction of the new plant is to begin in 2020.
