Goldhofer is helping Air France meet its sustainability commitments with the delivery of an electrically power aircraft tractor, the Phoenix E.
SkyTeam, the airline alliance of which Air France is a member, has launched the Sustainable Flight Challenge, a competition to improve sustainability on medium and long-haul flights.
The aim is to leave the smallest CO2 footprint possible and to share the experience with other airlines, and the Phoenix E will help Air France reduce its CO2 footprint on the ground.
The Phoenix E is Goldhofer’s flagship towbarless aircraft tractor, capable of handling aircraft up to the size of Boeing 777s and Airbus A350s.
Remy Delabeye, Head of GSE and Vehicles Division at Air France, said, “With the Phoenix E from Goldhofer, we can surely make a significant contribution to reducing our emissions in aircraft handling.”
