GHI launches virtual conference webinar on combatting COVID-19

GHI will launch a virtual conference seminar to help the world’s aviation community share best practice on beating the COVID-19 pandemic on May 28.

GHI has teamed up with GSE and technology solutions provider, JBT to launch the first in a series of planned webinars. The session takes place just weeks after GHI’s planned Asian Conference, which has been deferred until 2021 because of the coronavirus crisis.

The innaugural session will focus on the latest developments in the Asian aviation market and includes the contributions of senior leaders at AirAsia, SATS, JBT and Sobie Aviation.

"The GHI Big Debate Asia: your survival kit for COVID-19" webinar will examine how local operators are implementing social distancing, temperature screening and cleaning regimes into operations. Brendan Sobie of Sobie Aviation will analyse the latest government relief packages being offered to stakeholders across the region.

Other panellists include Thomas Liput, Regional Director Asia Pacific Ground Support Equipment at JBT; Javed Malik, Group Chief Operations Officer at AirAsia; and Yacoob Piperdi, Executive Vice President, (Gateway Services) at SATS.

Max Gosney, GHI Chairman, said: “Just because GHI can’t physically host a conference session doesn’t mean we can’t find alternative ways to bringing the community together to learn and support one another during this critical time. Asia is a great market to examine for trends and insight that could be advantageous to all stakeholders as it’s furthest along the coronavirus pandemic curve.”

The webinar is free to attend and will be open to operators across the world. The session will last 90 minutes and features a Q&A session with guest panellists.
