If you haven't joined us in Bali, you've truly missed a treat. As we enter day three, conference sessions have already been held on a variety of topics from finances and the legalities of ground damage, to PRM handling and the pros and cons of being an airport handler.
The lineup of renowned speakers has so far included the likes of James Carey, Managing Director, WFS; Jason Cameron, Manager Major City Airports, Qantaslink and Onno Boots, CEO of Celebi, who also participated in a lively cargo panel session, alongside John Batten, Executive VP – Business Development, WFS, Christian Bergfelder, Director Network Airside Europe, DHL and panel host David Ambridge, Director Cargo Operations, Asia & Africa, BFS. The session begged some interesting questions about the struggle to adopt technology in the industry and the reasoning behind this; with John Batten asserting that “fear is the roadblock,” and the session drawing to a close as David asked: “Do we listen to our customers effectively?”
Following an evening of traditional Balinese entertainment at the charming, beachfront delegate dinner venue, Taman Bhagawan, today’s sessions led with a presentation by Maurizio Anichini, Director Safety & Quality Assurance, BFS, with plenty of other sessions scheduled as the day unfolds, prior to the close of the event.
If you didn’t partake of this unmissable opportunity for networking and open discussion on all the topical issues in the industry, make sure to book your place for next year’s 10th GHI Asian conference, to be held at the iconic Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore.
