It is with sadness that GHI reports the untimely death of former Chief Executive of Hactl, Mark Whitehead, who passed away in his sleep whilst competing in an ocean yacht race, just weeks after his retirement.

Whitehead joined Hactl in 2010 and, under his leadership, the company navigated a period of unprecedented change, continuing its investment and modernisation programmes. Hactl received multiple industry awards in recognition of its achievements while Whitehead was at the helm.
Despite his recent retirement from Hactl on March 7, Whitehead remained committed to Hactl’s future development in his new role of Advisor, and will be greatly missed by all at Hactl.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca, daughter Francesca and son Charles, to whom GHI extends its deepest condolences.
The Hactl flag on the company’s SuperTerminal 1 building was lowered to half-mast on April 3, 2018, as a sign of respect.
