AvFlight, sister company of Avfuel which has more than 650 branded FBO locations worldwide, will offer a wide range of services including fuelling, hangar storage, ground handling, de-icing and concierge services, amongst other services.
The airport authority board gave approval on February 27 to negotiate a contract with Michigan-based Avflight, which operates at 21 other airports across the US and Europe.
Avflight will add 30 new jobs and is expected to make a US$6m to US$7m capital investment at the airport as part of the agreement.
Avflight will be located at Site 4 on the airport’s east side with convenient access to the terminal and taxiways. It will lease a five acre site and build a hangar at least 30,000 square feet in size, with construction due to begin later this year.
