Fluid Transfer ends year on a high

GSE Focus
Now in its fiftieth anniversary year, Fluid Transfer International has just announced a surge in UK and export orders.

With orders currently totalling £17.8m on the books, and further orders likely, Fluid Transfer will start 2018 in an optimistic frame of mind.

UK orders currently include hydrant dispensers for Heathrow and refuellers for Cardiff, Newcastle and Birmingham International airports. Export orders have been received from Greece for refuellers and hydrant dispensers, along with South Korea, Philippines and the Netherlands for hydrant dispensers. The most recent orders are among the largest commercial contracts for the company, with 60 hydrant dispensers ordered for the new airport in Istanbul, for which it will partner with Izmir-based vehicle specialist builder Katmerciler. This adds to a new order from Indonesian petroleum company Pertamina, and builds on two previously successful contracts in 2012 and 2017. This order, the largest yet for Pertamina, comprises 29 hydrant dispensers, 29 refuellers and two hydrant pit cleaners, further enhancing the supplier’s relationship with its Indonesian partner, PT Aweco Steel, which manufactures the fuel tanks and integrates the Fluid supplied refuelling modules with the locally purchased chassis.

In turn, these orders will provide between 30 to 40 additional job opportunities for project managers, design and test engineers, mechanical and electrical fitters.
