EGYPTAIR appoints FlyUs as cargo GSSA across Benelux

Egypt’s flag carrier EGYPTAIR has chosen FlyUs to be its General Sales and Services Agent for cargo across Benelux.

The carrier’s wholly-owned subsidiary, EGYPTAIR Cargo, set up in 2002, currently operates a fleet of three wide-bodied A300 freighter aircraft, with an additional four A330 freighters currently on order.

As of June, FlyUs will be responsible for freight on board these aircraft, on the carrier’s daily services ex-Amsterdam and four times weekly service from Brussels. In addition, the six weekly freighters ex-Ostend and Cologne will be served by road feeder service ex-Luxembourg, Brussels, Maastricht, Eindhoven, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

FlyUs Managing Director, Carlo de Haas, remarked positively about the new contract, saying: “We expect Cairo to be the main destination for Cargo. In addition there are also excellent onwards opportunities for freight to more than 40 cities right across the EGYPTAIR network,” he enthused.

It will be FlyUs’s job to ensure the carrier maintains a strong flown as booked performance for its cargo, as well as to develop a range of EGYPTAIR products including Pharma, Fresh, Express and AVI.

With this new deal, FlyUs adds to its repertoire of carriers and grows its list of operating bases, already comprising 15 countries across Europe, Africa and Central America.
