Dnata to handle at JFK Terminal 4

Ground handling at Terminal 4 of New York’s John F. Kennedy International airport will be provided by dnata from August 1.

JFKIAT, the company that operates the terminal, signed an agreement that will see the handler provide ground services for airlines at the terminal, including Etihad Airways, Volaris and Air Serbia. Cumulatively, the carriers will perform turnarounds for more than 2,000 flights a year.

Dnata, which already operates at other terminals at JFK, will invest US$3m in new infrastructure and resources to accommodate the new deal, which is expected to generate more than 100 new jobs.

Commenting on the partnership, Gert-Jan de Graaff, CEO, JFKIAT, commented, “Terminal 4 is continuously enhancing its operations in order to improve passenger satisfaction. With more than 21m passengers each year, we are confident that this new partnership with dnata will further excellent services for our airline customers and a superior passenger experience for our travellers.”

Dnata USA chief executive, David Baker, said: “This new license for dnata is the result of our consistent track record for delivering the highest quality to our customers.
“We now have the opportunity to offer our award-winning ground handling services to all customers already operating at Terminal 4 and to further strengthen existing global relationships with our customers in this location.”
