Each of the Turkish carrier’s flights carries an average of 600 passengers between Amsterdam and Istanbul, using a varied fleet of aircraft, including the A320, A321 and A330. dnata already handles cargo operations for the airline.
With this expansion of services, dnata’s Amsterdam operations now include the provision of passenger, baggage, ramp, and cargo handling services to many major airlines across the globe.
Erik de Goeij, CEO dnata Netherlands, commented on the Dutch development. “The start of our passenger handling operations was the next logical step for us here in Amsterdam. We are excited about the growth prospects and synergies this will bring to us and our customers, many of whom we already know well through our existing cargo partnerships.”
And the developments don’t end there. In April, the handler will bolster its passenger service offering by extending its contract with Emirates, beginning passenger services for its twice daily, A380-operated flights from Dubai, with a capacity of 519 passengers per flight.
Last year, the dnata crew supported 2,800 aircraft turnarounds and handled over 414,000 tonnes of cargo in Amsterdam
