Tony McNichol, Regional Director Central Europe for Cargolux, accepted the award, saying that the airline was honoured and proud to be chosen. “It is a great recognition of our efforts to offer the Hungarian air freight community the best possible service,” he commented.
In 2017, Cargolux transported close to 11,000 tons of cargo to and from Budapest airport, an increase of 14.5% from 2016. Cargolux is the largest provider in the belly and freighter cargo market at Budapest airport.

Overall, almost 130,000 tons of air cargo was handled at Budapest airport in 2017, an increase of 13.4% compared to the previous year – and a new Cargo City due to be operational in summer 2019 promises to increase these figures even further.
